Blended, huh. Your mother was nice, because mine just buried the peas at the bottom of the mashed potatoes. What’s worse than finding a pea in your potatoes? Finding half a pea. 
I still can’t stand them to this day. Don’t get me started on “yuccotash,” which is just an evil way to ruin the sweet goodness of corn with the nasty flavor of lima beans…
