I haven’t read Mutts since I stopped delivery of the newspaper, years back. (End of an era.) It wasn’t a comic that made me laugh out loud, but I loved it for its gentle humor and beautiful, painterly art style. It always made me happy that the comics page held space for something sweet and lovely like that.

Dammit! I almost made it through the article without crying. That was a sneak attack! Well played.
Also, I’ve sent the material request to our library’s collection management department. My nesting partner is the head of that department and a huge fan of Mutts, so I’ll be slightly surprised if I managed to sneak in this request before she did.
