It sounds like a more viable version of the Arduboy, which is good for making sarcastic custom cases but crappy for games, since it takes the concept a bit too far by using an actual Arduino atmega328, which was absurdly underpowered even 20 years ago.

I’m sure there’s a spot for something that can run tolerable games, but is also fun to code for (like Arduino, and unlike Linux-based GB clones).

I wonder if it would’ve killed them to use a slightly bigger display tho

ETA apparently this is on back order until “at least April”. Which reminds me that those Playdate people have been suspiciously quiet this past year.
