Love this one:
Great use of negative space
The FluTruxKlan arrives in Ottawa. (Not that many real long-haul trucks/tractors.)
As though they had the self awareness to see the incongruity between the shirt and the act of book burning. For them, burning books is the highest form of “free speech.”
To my way of thinking, if they want to buy books, what they do with them after that is their business. And if the publicity makes people wonder what’s in them that has these guys so hot and bothered, so they go buy them and read them, even better. Much better than book banning. That’s a whole different kettle of fish. Although, it tends to Streisand-like blow back as well. So, yeah, until it’s government sanctioned, it just makes them look like assholes. If we ever get to that point, though, we are well and truly fucked.
The problem is that once they’ve burned the books that they own, burning books that they don’t is a smaller step to climb.
We’re also being “Huxleyed into the Full Orwell”.
Indeed. It’s like the teacher has left the building.
That is a stellar example of what a political cartoon can do.
