That shadow is devastating.
Kind of political cartoons, Tories without privilege.
When I was in Bosnia in '98 the call to prayer would play multiple times a day. On Sunday mornings the 1st Cavalry Division would immediately follow the morning prayer by blasting God Blessed Texas at max volume.
Hmm. Not sure about the “urban violence is out of control!” trope in that one.
And I’ve actually been there a few times, never heard a single gun shot.
Seems like there must be a better way to point out anti-Muslim bigotry.
I don’t think it’s meant to signify urban violence — the shooters don’t appear to be Black, for example — but rather just how out of control we are as a country with our guns. But maybe there is a component to this that I didn’t recognize. Should I take it down?
Suburban, by the looks of it?
Probably so, but then, who are we led to imagine is “out in the streets” shooting up the neighborhood and such? Not white kids/men, who we tend to think of as school shooters or hunters with rifles, or mass shooters, again with rifles.
Hmm, maybe.
Nah. Probably just me.
