Yeah, she’s cute and all, but I question the “living her best life” part. Prairie dogs are highly social and normally live in colonies with tons of other prairie dogs. At one time, the private sale and trade of them was banned. The federal ban has been lifted, but I’m not sure it should have been. These are wild animals, and this in particular is a keystone species. We should not be keeping them as pets. Hopefully Poppy was a rescue and couldn’t be returned to the wild. She is cute, though.
