I was tempted to make a joke about the influx of pre-internet-porn babies during the “boomer generation” directly after Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but then remembered a book of essays I read from survivors of the two blasts and realized that no joke should ever be made about it.

I’m sad to report that serious attempts to link birth rates to minor disasters like power failures have failed. It makes a great story though, it’s a myth that will probably never fade.
