Possible PBBB laptop RPG game

Retconning the narrative thread, BTW.

Oh, by the way, in case diplomacy doesn’t work (and in case it isn’t already obvious), aside from talking, Hawk is all-out defending.

I’ve redone my post to reflect the new reality.

Morning,well I guess having actually hit them now is going to make Hawk’s diplomacy attempt a lot harder.

@discbot roll 1d6 +1 points of arrow in the chest

Eh. They might respect us more if we make a show of strength.

@discbot roll 1d6

@Mitchell the d6 dice reads: 1

That’s two points of damage, boosted to four by the impaling modifier. Not useless, but not a stopper.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an attempt at ā€œchargingā€ with a stagecoach before.

I like it. :slight_smile:

Imagine my post comes with a sad trombone sound.

It’s not exactly a war chariot, but desperate times call for impulsive measures. :persevere:

Which way is my horse racing?

Facings are shown by arrows on the icons.

Ranar’s hammer:

You’ve got the choice between impaling and crushing. Against living things, impaling does a lot more damage, but whenever you hit with the spike there’s a chance that it may get stuck in the target.

The crushing side is good for getting through mail, splatting undead (which take little damage from impaling) and avoiding getting stuck.

Ranar is still shieldless, BTW. Four seconds if you want to ready it.

Also: the centaur spears have a 1-hex range when used one handed. If they switch to a full extension two handed grip, it’s a 3-hex reach.

Nic’s rapier is reach 2, JibrÄ«l and Ranar’s weapons are reach 1 (Hawk’s spear is reach 1 one-handed, reach 2 two-handed). You can step one hex on a normal attack, so you’ve effectively got 2 or 3 yards of reach.

Since I’ll be at work for another few hours I’d be fine with @Wanderfound running Nic for a bit to keep things rolling.

Basic tactics would be to try and team up with Jibril to concentrate on one enemy at time. Flanking if possible, and trying to use the rapier’s reach - aiming for crippling leg blows if they aren’t too difficult.

Ranar’s the key at the moment; will he keep control of the horses, and what will he do next?

Which centaur took out the horse? Three? Or the one that was shot?

The ā€œbadly woundedā€ one that you shot, far left.

He’s still holding a big spear, and has another javelin strapped to his back.

That is some hardcore horse hate right there

Well, consider the situation…

Centaurs aren’t from Yrth or Earth; they’re originally from Lorendil.

On Lorendil, there were no horses.

So, you get thrown into a new world where there are these things that kinda look like deformed people, but are actually animals, and are treated as expendable resources by the dominant people of your new world. And those people have an unfortunate tendency to try and treat your people as if they were just talking versions of those hideous mockeries of real people that they ride around on.

Your relationship is likely to be somewhat complicated.

(note, however: centaurs aren’t crazy, they aren’t normally known to attack horses on sight or anything like that. They understand that horses are animals, they just don’t like being confronted with them.)

There’s also the possibility that all of that is irrelevant to the current situation, and he just wanted to immobilise the carriage.
