Weekend alert:
I’m going to be offline for about the next two days, as I’m going camping, and the place where I’m going probably doesn’t have Internet access (and I probably wouldn’t use it, even if it was available, because camping).
So, if we get into the dungeon: Hawk will be staying in the middle of the party, effecting an all out defense, and providing healing as necessary (and if anyone can think of a good use of his Animal or Communication college spells that would come in handy, then those too).
Beyond that, I leave control of him up to the GM for the weekend.

I’m probably wrong about the “hands across the sky” thing but I’m thinking he’ll stay out for about an hour surveying and then come back with the results and discuss a further plan of action with the others.

Not sure if this requires a roll on his meteorology skills but I’m basing it on the idea that he’d be able to make a good guess about the direction the prevailing winds bringing dark clouds would be coming from. I left the XXXX in as a placeholder.
The guess that it’s early spring in the painting is because the leaves are that bright green of new growth. But the sun is lower in the sky going by how much of the sides of the buildings are sunlit so it’s not summer yet. Putting them together he should be able to get an idea of what direction the painter was facing.
This doesn’t help them figure out where it is in relation to them right now but I’m hoping it’ll help as they get closer.
The painter was probably facing west if it was morning, east if it was afternoon.
Rain wise, al-Wazif is fairly dry. The nearby large bodies of water are north and east, but the prevailing winds tend to blow from the west.
Isn’t Hawks view of the world currently blue skies and circling buzzards?
How’s the weather in Al-Haz… which I assume isn’t that far south of us… in the spring?
Al-Haz is southwest; it tends to be a bit damper thanks to moisture coming off the southern ocean.
Well, he’s currently a little more alert than that, having finished resting and having arrived in what he considers to be a higher-danger area, but yes, he has been doing a bit of birdwatching.
