Not dead…

Just busy and feeling uninspired when it comes to wacky hijinks…

Current situation: Thwip and Jibrīl on top of the hill, everyone else back at the carriage on the western end of the track you came in on. Some potential locations spotted, but nothing definite.

Clear sunny day, moderate westerly winds, birds circling overhead, otherwise apparently quiet.

I’ve decided to provide all of the hijinks myself. Let’s get this pinkie party back on track!

I guess my post was just too good… :stuck_out_tongue:

Ball’s still with you guys…

Hawk’s a healer and spiritual adviser, who thinks the need right now is for people with knowledge of architecture. He’s from the Nomad lands; nomads and architecture don’t really get along that well.

Until someone articulates a problem in his hearing that he thinks he can solve, his job is “Be alert and stay out of the way.”

It’s hard to do multiple narrative posts expressing that same point.

Sorry, sorry, sorry, been a bit busy recently. Jibrīl’s given Hawk a suggestion of how he can help.

A little more direct than I’d’ve liked, given Jibril’s in-character knowledge, but I can work with it. Thank you.

See, I knew the game would update if I went away from the internet for a few days.

@discbot roll 3d6 vs 16 for Beast Summoning: Raptor (with +1 for “taking extra time”).

@discbot roll 3d6 vs 15 for Beast Possession: Avian, targeting the raptor I just summoned.

@nimelennar the 3d6 dice reads: 7 vs 16 for Beast Summoning: Raptor (with +1 for “taking extra time”). (3,1,3)

@nimelennar the 3d6 dice reads: 12 vs 15 for Beast Possession: Avian, targeting the raptor I just summoned. (3,6,3)

@wanderfound There you go. Ball’s finally back in your court.

ETA: I hope you don’t mind the parchment. I saw an opportunity for a Discworld reference, and had to go for it.

Uh, guys?

We have a destination in one direction, and a confrontation in the other.

Oh, and your healer’s out of commission for about an hour.

Any thoughts?

Run, Forrest. Run.

Quick post to show I aien’t dead.
I’m thinking it’s a good idea to do something about the centaurs. either diplomacy take 2 or fight 'em (preferably by setting an ambush or where we might have an advantage - maybe even at the fortress ruins)

Once I get detail on how you’re exploring and how you’re defending the camp, I’ll do another GM post.

Hmm… seems we’re looking for a relatively defensible spot to park the carriage, horses, and Aronn (along with guard(s)) during initial investigation.

Are the foundation stones (and dirt/vegetation around them) high enough to offer some cover? Is the chalk-covered hilltop nearby close enough (within archery range) and easy enough to get to that it might make sense to roll up there and set up base for a better view and uphill advantage? Or are we pretty much out in the open? What time of day is it relative to setting-up-camp-time?

It’s early evening; the light is rapidly fading. The peak of the hill is at appears in the painting.

The ruins provide minimal cover; foundation stones only.

The approaching night changes things.

Ruins are better than open ground. And since they seem to be on a higher elevation than the land surrounding them, aside from the hill, we will have that advantage too.

I’d also like to suggest starting a distraction campfire and a fake campsite a short distance away from us once we find out the exact layout of the ruins. That way if the centaurs try for an ambush we might be able to get the advantage. Maybe in the tower ruins?

Thwip the only one with night vision?
