What about Thwips suspected pond/ depression/ resevoir? Is it more or less visible? Or was it an illusion created by how the landscape was painted?
No pond.
Youâre in the saddle between two hilltops; ahead of you, fifty feet beyond the westernmost part of the ruined foundations, the slope rises steeply to a small level shelf before taking a more gradual slope to the chalk layer, where the slope changes again slightly.
Ah, so the p.o.v. of the painting made it look like a depression.
What Iâm thinking in regards to the entrance to a fortress would sort of be like this;
Except with probably less brickwork visible due to being left to the elements and them wanting to keep it hidden. There are a lot of 1700s through to the Cold War military bunkers in my hometown with similar entrances. Hard to see until youâre on top of them, but the paths to the entrances are long and flat enough for soldiers to run in and out of them with ease.
However, if weâre looking for a hidden vault/ underground lair instead, then the building acting as a front makes the most sense so I think going up there would be wise for us even if we werenât being tailed.
So are we exploring with the last of the light, or setting up camp immediately? If exploring, where? If setting up camp, where?
What are Nic and Jibril doing?
However Ranarâs judgement falls, Thwip will try to keep an eye out for unusual depressions in the immediate landscape that might suggest a fort entrance like I mentioned up above before settling into his watch.
@Wanderfound whatâs the light like, we got a nice bright full moon, or is it a pretty much canât see your hand in front of your face kinda night?
Half moon, clear skies, moderate light.
Iâll ask again: Is Thwip the only one with night vision?
Iâd guess Ranar has something along those lines being a dwarf. Maybe Arron.
Rest of us are human, so no more than the regular eyes adjusting to low light vague shapes and movement kind for us
(pemmican and hard tack?)
Iâm not sure if the banestorms brought over any Metis or 18th century Americans, but I wrote this as the closest thing I could think of being in his rations. That or Lembas.
And looking at his character sheet he seems to not have any rations though I thought he did when I wrote that.
Yup, Thwip is the only one with night vision.
Night vision is common amongst dwarves, but not universal; if Ranar didnât take the advantage, he doesnât have it. Elves use magic when they want to see in the dark.
None of you have rations in your packs; Aronn has a food supply stashed on the carriage for you all to share.
Thwip will take the pemmican!
Anyway, edit reality as needed.
Looks like a fun weekend.
Waiting to see what Jibrīl and de Courcy are up to.
Even if your PC isnât doing anything much, a quick one-line post on the narrative thread is good for letting me know that yâall have seen my GM post, so I can move on to the next one.
Might be an idea to start tagging everyone again
I thought I was just strolling around the camp. Didnât realize you needed input from me.
Your input is always welcome. At least it is to me. The others? Couldnât tell yah.
