Awesome job! I’m gonna print a copy.

Thanks! The flowers I added for the headpiece were really generic stylized things, the original was orange colored, but I liked the contrasting color. I threw in the thistle/bees too since I pulled a lot out of the original when I was reconstructing:

Thanks! We’ve got some cards made, that one’s on the list to be added:

What program and effect did you use on PP herself?

My sister’s girlfriend is hedgehog-obsessed. I foresee some birthday present purchases.

Edit: OH MY GOD THREE HEDGEHOG MOON SHIRT

Photoshop + a Cartoon Sketch action to get things more like a painted output. That still looked like crap so there was a lot of manual brushes & spot dodge/burn/blurs & adjustment layers to clean up the machine-generated output. That was a pain, though reconstructing the floral border, etc. was a real time suck.

The hedgehog image is actually a composite since she was sitting on a blanket when she was waving, though I’d already made the composite for:

This sounds like a superb idea!

If you are getting shirts in the US, the Amazon ones are cheaper:

We put them up on Zazzle since they’ll ship to Canada/UK, which Amazon won’t because they are annoying.

Does it count as a pet pic if it’s a pet photoshopped into a Rembrandt?

Today I was in the Bolsa Chica wildlife preserve in Huntington Beach for a few hours. I spotted a lot of things, here’s a few:

Osprey leaving with its fish:

Forster’s Terns

Forster’s Tern close-up (pretty happy with this photo)

Black-necked Stilt (always really happy to see these graceful and lovely birds):

Lots of meadowlarks all over:

A horned lark (a new species to add to my list - yay).

Lots of waders here’s a marbled godwits, and some willets. There were a lot of whimbrels, plovers, sandpipers, et al. as well).

Vancouver’s very nice. Got this great blue heron strike photo today:

There are way more Anna’s hummingbirds than I’d have expected:

Also there are bald eagles:

And photogenic robins:

And gulls eating sea stars:

And tons of float planes:

(I spotted a lot of species of birds that I’m really happy to be seeing like surf scoters and pelagic cormorants but which aren’t so photogenic.)

Watch out for the ravens!

While I’m waiting 28 seconds for my ability to give likes to return, I have to say that I love the Westin Bayshore because of the view of the sea planes.

No crows?

I am jealous. MrsTobinL has confirmed what now appears to be her annual house sitting gig for one of her friends who lives in the area later on this summer. It is an amazingly beautiful city.

It’s funny, there were a lot of crows, and they were brazen. I took this one, though the light’s bad, was going to see if I could clean it up when I was home and had a laptop for proper editing:

Mean Crow II:

It’s really lovely, we’re going to rent scooters tomorrow to get a bit more ground covered. We were still a bit sore from closing down Disneyland.

Not too often you get to see an empty Main Street:

Not just crows, gulls too. Took this with iPhone.

A swan near us has been systematically drowning any goslings it can find, and people are talking about building a fence.

Are they trying to escape a potential Drumpf presidency?
