Over on Amazon and Chewy K&H Pet Products has all kinds of heated pads and beds.
We use their heated pads outside and a couple inside in some kitty beds that are nice and soft.
Their heat beds are nice if you ever find yourself in need of soft heated beds. They are very reasonably priced and we have never had one go bad.
We have one in the house that the cats will nudge each other out of to get a turn.
Their pads are great, arenât they? I bought two last winter to slip into the kitty beds, and like your kitties, three out of four will vie for the warm beds. (Fluffy Other Cat doesnât need the extra warmth.)
The kitten crockpot was purpose-built for tiny kitten needing surround warmth, and Bitey Kitten bonded with it. (Also, an engineer is going to engineer.)
Hahahah. I have a dandy cat!
Follow up, a little over a week in. The mama is still kind of scary, but has really warmed up. Weâve been doing everything the experts recommend for the first week: keeping visits short, making sure she associates us with bringing food and water, leaving when sheâs stressed (which was almost immediately at first!)
I sit outside the door and read sometimes, just to get her used to me being nearby.
Today we seem to have reached some milestone. Sheâs still cagey, but has turned into a (somewhat scary) love kitty. Head bumps, full body rubs, flopping. She even let us get close to the kitten without drawing blood!
Itâs (thereâs only one) still a little bean, but seems healthy. No pics yet, but soon, I hope!
Youâve gotten her trust. That is so awesome!
Hard won! I wish I was more like this kitty in so many ways.
ETA: I just had my first full encounter with zero hisses. That is huge.
Hisses are part of Bitey Catâs ongoing vocabulary, one of several behaviors there from the beginning that had me worried for a while, but by now I can hear the difference between hissing because of vague annoyance/displeasure/grouchiness and hissing because of anger/fear/âIâm going to take someone or something apartâ. None of the other three are like that
So happy to read your update, and waiting on pins and needles for first pics!

Back in August this kitty started showing up once a day to eat. We couldnât tell if it was someoneâs pet or another feral. You canât believe the people that just open their door when they move out and donât take kittys with them. We figured feral because we couldnât get near it. Slowly it started coming more often and then started hanging around but it wouldnât go in the heated house because Mrs. Feral kind of owned it.
Last week it started going in the house and spending a lot of time in there. We started to think maybe about to give birth but according to the experts it was unlikely this time of year.
Some bad weather is upon us so we bought a second house and heating pad so both cats would have somewhere warm to stay until we figured out what was going on.
The new cat was in the yard this morning eating and running around but this evening it went to bed and didnât wake up. We have a camera in both houses, it looked like it had a seizure and then just passed. Weâll take her tomorrow to be cremated and join the other backyard critters in our garden.
The one on the right is the one that just left us.
This is kitty sleeping the other day.
If anyone needs a nice house this one is available on Amazon in two sizes, a little modification and it becomes a warm cozy house. Weâre going to keep both of them out there, in case any other critters need a warm spot.
Iâm sorry.
She was lucky to be cared for by you
My doggos were especially excited and reluctant to come inside last night, turns out this little marsupial was in the Bougainvillea.
Ouch. Poor thing. Bougainvillea is spiky.
