Mixed, but mostly good news about Broken Bob!
Ya, FIV is manageable⊠As long as he can get along with other cats without biting all is ok â Boika seemed iffy, but he gets along fine with his brothers (we did give him to a friend so he doesnât get exposed to as many vectors, but he stays with us several times a year).
I just donât know if the wife will be ok with another cat in the house (we have 6 now). I just have to keep working on his desire to be a lap cat â she really misses having a lap cat.
Here I thought we were the âcrazy cat peopleâ with 4!
Lap cats are pretty awesome. We donât have one in current lot.
Our last true lap cat that one could hug-n-cuddle without any fuss was our sweet sweet boy, Leo (also FIV+), unfortunately, he dropped dead of a heart attack (we assume) ~1.5 yrs ago.
We were maintaining at a nice manageable 4 cats for quite a while, but then the MiL wanted a kitten that was available and then another stray came alongâŠ
What I need to do is screen in our back patio so that it is a safe place for Mister B. Bob.
thatâs cool!
when i was young we had ducks on the farm we raised from ducklings and they had a kiddie pool just like that!
watch out and sheild the youngâuns eyes. they like to get âduckyâ in there (if ya get my meanin)!
Sweet Hunta, the rescue Boxer, died tonight. I donât know exactly what happened but she will be very much missed. May she bounce and twirl in doggo heaven. And continue to marinate everyone and everything in sight in her fur, snot and drool, while lavishly making accidental bruises because of her belief she was totally a lap dog. Thanks for stoically tolerating my continual booping of that very boopable nose, beautiful girl.
was reading the local weekly and this headline jumped out at me:
because you, @BakaNeko often post photos of this lovely birb, my reaction was âbanaquit?! really? in Key West?!â
here is the archive link (no paywall):

not a bananaquit, but an almost-as-rarely-seen western greenback spindalis. still pretty cool sighting!
Iâm so sorry!
Thanks. She was actually my sisterâs and familyâs but I adored her. The pics are from when I last looked after her three weeks ago. And I fortunately got marinated in her messy love last weekend!
Sheâs still family though! Iâm very sorry for your loss!
Just read this message, looked up at the duck pond, and sure enough thereâs a pair of duckys getting lucky.
Iâm so sorry for the loss of your furry niece.
Whoa!
Thanks for sharing. This is some serious bird watchers stuff, I mean, these guys sure know their birds. And the article was very funny to read.
I thought these birds also flew to Florida, as it is not so far from the Caribbean islands and the climate is milder. Although @Mangochin and @anon67050589 have already posted pictures of parakeets in the north of the United States, @anon87143080 said that there are parrots in Chicago and @FGD135 posted a video about Parakeets in Germany, this is the kind of thing I would never have thought possible. Parakeets were tropical birds for me.
Now I think that New Jersey Parakeets and Chicago Parrots would be good names for a NFL team.
Oh well⊠clearly, itâs time to take a break and relax!
