None shall pass!
Hey! Three gatekeepers in a row!
Dare I say it? It appears you live in a cat house!
(Yes, I am an old.)
Seen between two sidewalk slabs in downtown Chicago. Approximately 4.5" long. Poor little guy probably froze to death (in the 30’s F with snow flurries today):
The best kind of sea lion alert
Terribly large for this time of year! Don’t despair too hard, though, it’s intended lot in life was murdering butterflies.
But they also eat mosquitoes!
So do bats! And bats can eat something like 4x their weight in the pesky bloodsuckers in a night. I’d rather have the bats - butterflies are decent pollinators, eh?
We had our first European Starling today but we had our first American Feral a few days ago. She wanted to get a closer look inside our house.
We came home to this today, where Old Man was sleeping was very unusual for him and because he’s very deaf he doesn’t know when we walk in the door so we were relieved when we got close and could see him breathing. He’s been sleeping in some weirder and weirder spots because he just stops and goes to sleep wherever he gets exhausted enough.
So are mosquitoes!
Cat at a window (after Vermeer)
It’s 2 cats. Cats and paper bag?
