Okay, my brain is released from the fog of overwork and the coping mechanisms that come with it, I think the ones most worthy of this thread are @mindysan33 and @melizmatic for refusing to allow defeatism to stand without being called out.
Just a shoutout to @danimagoo for her thoughtful and detailed responses on issues of the law!
Shout out to @fiddlingfrog for consistently posting the relevant YT videos in the public thread so that everyone (who is not blocked regionally) can view them.
Thatās incredibly helpful, IMO.
Iāve been thinking hard about this, but every time I consider calling out more mutants by name, I get worried Iāll inadvertently leave someone off and donāt want to insult by omissionā¦
So Iāll add this: I value this community SO much. I learn a lot from the discussions, even when they get uncomfortable. Maybe even the most then.
Iām so grateful for all of you who are willing to engage in good faith, to raise interesting points or questions about the stories, to thoughtfully respond to comments, and to share aspects of lives different than mine that Iād be very unlikely to learn about so directly if it were not for your generosity and patience.
I agree and I thank you for all of your great posts!
But let me also thank @fiddlingfrog for the video shortcuts! And thank you @Melizmatic for pointing that out and being a badass.
Thank you, @Mindysan33 and the ladies of the BBS. I love you and appreciate everything you do for us! You all know who you are (@chgoliz and @IronEdithKidd, there are many more). You fight the good fight, and you inspire and you make me laugh each day (looking at @KathyPartdeux and @Tamsin_Bailey). Also, thanks to @Kii and @danimagoo for their legal insights.
Thanks to @knoxblox who loves his kitties and the other regulars of the BBS (the twins, the doctor, the fisherman, and our the leaders).
A few weeks back, I was trying to post something, but it was off-topic.
My post disappeared, so then I posted something about a glitch - which I thought it was.
Then it happened a third time.
Turns out it wasnāt a glitch - I was being modded for being off-topic, so fair cop.
Then I got a personal message pointing out my error - rather than banning me, the mod took time out of their own calendar to put me back on the BB path, which I thought was a nice personal touch, and goes to show that the mods here do care about us regular folk enough to tolerate a few mis-steps.
This might seem a funny way of saying thanks to someone but thatās what this is.
Thanks @jlw , not just for not nuking me at the time, but for the whole shebang that is the BB.
Right backatcha!!
Good shout! Such a valuable service!
Yeah. This sums up my thoughts nicely. It took me a long time to muster up the courage to post here (like 15 years of reading the comments) and frankly the only reason I did was because of the quality of discussions that happen here.
So many people make this a good place to be online and Iām grateful to all of them.
I need to clap at @markfrauenfelder. I may be an N of one here but I canāt explain how giddy I get when I see a quirky short story woven into ad copy. Hereās to you, for staring into the abyss of capitalism and drawing out a way to get my clicks.
Thank you! Iām really tickled by the idea that my slapdash effort could ever be called āconsistentā, but I am very glad that you find it so useful.
Um, I donāt know. Iāve stumbled twice in my short time here: One post removed and a time-out. Not really things to aspire to.
I would like to @Melizmatic for correcting my choice of words.
For @jlw for reminding me that my stay here is ephemeral and discretionary.
Iām trying to get a feel for the place and Iām working to be better. I donāt mean to leave anyone out. Every one of the long-time members have wisdom to share. Props to all of you.
