Now I’m really curious about Brooklyn basin. I. Had a negative view of it as development run amok, but maybe I should chill out.

Seems like the term “culture” in the sense meant here is being massively overused these days.

The noodle place is referencing the design of the Tokyo subway. While design is culture, not everything is its own unique sub-culture.

What is “Tokyo Subway System Culture” supposed to be?

It’s not referencing the Tokyo subway. It’s based on the design identity of the JR Group companies that run the national railway network, and probably inspired by JR East in particular because of the dark green logo.
