I also think that for actors they can never rest easy, because success now doesn’t mean you’ll have success later. So they’re constantly fighting for and chasing more work

The way you describe it makes it sound even less appealing than it already did. Unfortunately it also tracks with my experience in music; a brush with success doesn’t ensure a real career.

The difference is that a one hit wonder can set you up financially for life (if you’re smart) and for an actor that’s nowhere close.

It’s a shame creative work can’t be more even-handed.
