Isn’t this like the… 3rd or 4th version of this story? And also, I don’t think they are “uncontacted”… they have made the choice to avoid oppressive institutions, mostly likely due to previous interactions in their history that proved destructive.

This situation is terrible and I can’t really fault the tribe for defending their territory, but it sucks that the individuals who got killed are almost certainly low-paid workers who are likely working crappy jobs in an attempt to get by, rather than the actual company owners or officials who are making the decisions and giving the orders to encroach into these areas.

Given that logging companies have slaughtered Indigenous peoples on their own land, as well as destroying entire ecosystems, I can’t blame them.
