A group of researchers are trying to create a process that would allow extremely cheap 5MW fusion reactors to be produced, and they are turning to Indegogo to help fund it.

I am trying to work out if it is completely insane, if they are scammers, or if it’s actually something worth funding.
On the one hand, cheap fusion is always the domain of crackpots or scammers trying to get rich.
On the other, if I thought that they had even an 0.01% of achieving their goal, the ramifications would be enormous, and I’d fund it in a heartbeat.
So… does anyone think that they have even an 0.01% chance of achieving their goal?
