Just use a damn peep hole people.
Ring doorbell app packed with third-party trackers
Now 93% off RRP in the BoingBoing Store.
Of course I can’t help but notice that my browser plugins detected no less than ten trackers on this web page, including Facebook. Sooooo
I work in mobile app development for a major tech company, and honestly, everything shown here in this data is extremely basic. If you’re uncomfortable with this, you should stop using smartphones completely because every single app is sending all this kind of data up constantly. This is the most basic level of analytics, and this information doesn’t even require special permissions to acquire from the device. IP address, Android version, screen resolution, crashlytics logs, etc is all standard.
My point is that trying to target the Ring doorbell with this criticism is silly. Literally every app you touch is sending all this data as a baseline.
