The basis is pretty obvious: Google is big and not sufficiently dedicated to El Mango Supremo. What they use as a pretext is yet to be determined, but sue first and figure out the details later.

Of course, Google has enough lawyers and cash (and members of Congress suckling at the teat of Google’s “campaign contributions”) to drag any such investigation or lawsuit out until Trump is dead and buried.
The point isn’t to actually prevail legally, it’s to appear tough and scary.
