I’m still trying to find out how “nationalism” has a dark side, given that sentiment implies there’s a light side.
Speaking as a non-American, I have absolutely no problem with Maria Butina going to jail for what she did. She’s a Russian citizen who worked for Russian govt in order to clandestinely and illegally meddle with American politics. She knew what she was doing.
A better comparison might be
