Y’know, there was that episode of Doctor Who two seasons ago where the Doctor went blind and suddenly found himself completely stymied by a combination lock. Because for some reason he couldn’t see it with his techno-vision-substitute. And the sonic screwdriver wouldn’t work, for some reason.
