He’d done his best this morning, said something to the effect of “NASA was a disaster, but we turned it around.”

Fucking touchscreens. It’s like a pathological imperative with Elon Musk.

Now Pvt. Bonespurs gets to leverage off of the bravery of astronauts Behnken and Hurley, both colonels.

It was around then i switched the live feed off but i enjoyed it until that point when i could forget the politics and billionaire manbabies. If you’re a kid and inspired by people like that then all the best to you in your life, you’ll probably go far.

NASA’s still streaming on YouTube. From the sound of it, they’ll be going on until Dragon arrives at the station tomorrow. Bridenstine has fucked off and it’s largely technical explanations and ground-to-crew chatter now if you’d like to keep a marvel of human ingenuity on in the background.

…he knows that’s a gay anthem, right?

OK, silly question.

His handlers know that’s a gay anthem, right?

The thing that stuck out to me is how all the techs’ outfits made them look like the anonymous expendable minions one would expect to find in a James Bond movie. They’re even identified by number instead of name, because Blofeld knows better than to let himself get attached.

Its a clever ploy to appeal to a totally new demographic.

You can tell a macho, he has a funky walk
His western shirts and leather, always look so boss
Funky with his body, he’s a king
Call him Mister Ego, dig his chains
You can best believe that, he’s a macho man
Likes to be the leader, he never dresses grand

I guess the “Mister Ego” and “likes to be the leader” parts fit anyway.

I’d argue that corporations commercializing space is probably not going to be great in the long run. I watched the launch and was happy it went so smoothly, but we should be wary of corporations leading the charge on this.

but space X is not an “agency”… it is a for-profit corporation. I don’t believe we should let our love of space exploration diminish our critical insight into capitalism.
