Six immortal superweapons the Democrats made for the president, which Trump gets to wield

Is this a compliment to Obama or a fierce condemnation of your country’s leaders?

This is why it’s so important to elect Democrats who aren’t beholden to the party establishment and its paymasters in finance, military contracting, surveillance, and big business.

Don’t forget those who just like good ol’ power and control.

“Unlimited trade powers” isn’t really correct. Fast track authority means that Congress still gets to approve the final agreement, it just has to be an up or down vote. It’s also an authority that’s been held by every president since Ford.

Declaring that election systems are critical infrastructure gives the federal government total control over them in much the same way declaring movie studios, hotels, and casinos critical infrastructure gave the federal government total control over them (i.e. it doesn’t).

The claim “Ninety-five percent of the Democratic congresspeople are corrupt and working for corporate America and Wall Street” seems inaccurate when of the six problem powers listed in the article only four were voted on in Congress, and of those three were voted against by at minimum solid majorities of the Democratic caucus (The 2012 NDAA was a must-pass bill).

I would take with a grain of salt anything written by a host for RT America.

I don’t know, but the counter insurgency that’s currently in office is repeating the mantra that anything they disagree with is “fake news”. I’m out of ideas of what to tell people anymore that support these assholes.

An argument that Adam Schiff wants the FBI to be able to investigate foreign criminals with just a FISA approval seems…actually like something that would hurt Trump.

Any argument that concludes Schiff is just like Trump and really supports Trump’s agenda is spending a lot of time to create strawmen.

There isn’t anything you can tell someone who refuses to live in the real world.

Just keep working on the ones who are unhappy with what is happening in government but who are not with us yet.

“Terrible President” presents itself to me as a comparative statement in a way that “cold water” does not, but hey, you do you.

The litmus test I’ve been using was the Milgram Experiment. Thanks for bringing the Leguin refinement to my attention. The best counter I can think of is that if those of us with high ideals refuse to acknowledge the good in flawed but sincere examples of leadership, we allow those with far lower standards to dictate who gets to be in charge.

Truth. Just seems like it’s getting harder and harder to find those folks who aren’t either all in or are so angry about a handful of things that they refuse to listen to anything else. :frowning:

IMMORTAL SUPERWEAPONS!

Well, thank goodness we aren’t dealing in hyperbole.

Neither of these power are actually legitimate. It’s simply that no one has tested it in court. It’s quite clear that our government does not have the authority to take liberty or life from anyone without due process.
I would be interested in any movement which would hold the lawmakers who voted to violate our basic rights accountable in a criminal manner. They all have violated their oaths of office by signing on to these illegal laws and need to be held accountable.

To me, “Terrible President” is only different from “Cold Water” from a comparative point of view in that many people have an emotional attachment to presidents and not to water. I’m sure that we would be having this same discussion about water if there was a Salt Water Cult and a Fresh Water Cult and every year we would vote on what water everyone’s swimming pools got filled with. Both sides would argue about how theirs is better while a small group of people look from the side of the pool who do not belong to either cult and just want to swim in peace.
