Skydiving without a parachute

We used to clean the offices at a small local airport back in the 90s and 00s, they were home to one of the largest skydiving clubs in the state and this part of the country.
We would watch them jump all the time. I was ready to do a tandem jump until one morning tragedy struck.
A plane with nine jumpers crashed right after takeoff at the end of the runway. Everyone on board including the pilot were killed. They were having a weekend camping event. They were all in their 20s and early 30s.
We’re were at the airport when it happened. It cured me of my desire to jump.
We do have an iFly facility near us, it’s on my bucket list.
