You’re probably thinking of Snow (of Informer fame), who did grow up in a Jamaican neighborhood in Toronto.

Loved the Rifftrax version.
Pretty sure i saw that version too. I think without it you can still make it through if you’re with a group of people but Rifftrax is always best.

Also since no one has brought it up, near the opening to Hot Shots when the two main characters meet it is pretty much a parody of Cool As Ice. I never got the reference for years until i saw the movie.
