That explains a lot.
Oh, so this isn’t about any official State Ska Bands.
This sounded implausible. Found the Donnybrook Brawlers, self-described as ska punk and players at ska festivals, out of Sioux Falls, SD, in about 3mins:
are you saying that The Hard Times made a MISTAKE?!
Oh, I’d never suggest that. Not for a second. All I’m saying is that there’s a ska band in South Dakota.
Ska is one of those things like Dixieland jazz and Bluegrass-- there is always a “revival” going on.
Aw, is there a part 1 to this article, it starts with the N’s. Where is Kansas?
Oops — here’s the link to start from the beginning!
even Alaska has one (and their name isn’t even the obvious pun!)
That’s a damn shame.
Almost tempted to move there and start my own ska band.
The Alaskatones?
So looked at the IG page, and now I want to hear them. And now that I want to hear them, it made me wonder: who commissioned the article? Was it the Donnybrook Brawlers perhaps?
Ha! And @thomdunn is in on it – that’s why the title will never be changed!
Thanks for posting the vid–I liked that one too
I reckon it’s about time for a 4th wave of Ska.
They are slacking in South Dakota. Someone needs to pick it up pick it up.
