In Mindbridge, Joe Haldeman makes a good point about the “habitable zone” and I’ve been taking any press release mentioning it (or the “Goldilocks” phrase) with a handful of salt ever since I read it.
I can’t find or remember the exact quote right now, but if memory serves his point is that, applying the standard definition(s), Earth technically isn’t in the “habitable zone”.
