A train to where exactly? If there are things you will want to travel between on the Moon, couldnât you justâŚnot build them far apart?
Off the top of my head - transporting ice from craters at the south pole where the sun never reaches to habitats someplace else where theyâd use solar power during the Lunar day.
Moving helium-3 from where itâs harvested to a processing/shipping plant. Stuff like that.
Or moving around the missiles for a âDead Handâ fail-deadly and mutual assured destruction deterrence to make them harder to hit. There were plans for implementing something like this on Earth during the Cold War. Hey, this is funded by DARPA after all.
