Student ejected from ceremony for graduating while black

At graduation?

Because he’s black and a thug? Is that your insinuation?

No, LITERALLY because guns are a thing that people carry in America.

At high schools? All the time?

You’ve already admitted you don’t live here and don’t understand American culture so I’d suggest you stick to things you actually know something about.

Oh no, OF COURSE not, that would be racist. Any white student “acting up” this way could also be armed.

ETA as I’m typing: Ha, C. Pedge beat me to it. Predictable as snow in January.

The only way to stop a bad person who might have a gun is to call three people who definitely do?

Fear is the mind killer, it really is.

No, no, no, all the students should have concealed carry (and the teachers) so they can be ready for someone wearing a kente cloth at graduation.

Holy Fuck, I am out of here. This is worse than @khepra’s thread.

at least khepra has occasional flashes of self awareness between cosmic journeys!

This is just all being asked (asked is a sarcastic word here) to take responsibility for the gut reactions of people unwilling to listen to even themselves.

Still, I had a free hour to de-bait the topic.

zero tolerance means 100% intolerance.

Thanks @jlw. That seems an appropriate response.

Thanks, @jlw.

Well, I guess there isn’t much point in replying to him now beyond giggles.

Given the way this thread has gone we should be hearing from the next outraged white person seeing their racial identity unfairly maligned by shocking accusations of racist treatment of a black kid violating a dress code in about an hour who will be again magically unaware of anything said in the previous 500 comments.

At least I should have some likes by then.

And yet, through your belligerent “just asking questions”, you are saying just as much about your opinion while pretending at objectivity.

You have your mind made up, there’s no need to pose as someone coming from a position of rationality when you’re parroting rule of law.

Someone placed shitty rules, someone overreacted, that the kid was escorted off by police is not self-justifying.

Seriously though, “he could have had a gun”… wow. The friendly mask you wear is cracked and your truer self appears to be shining through.

Wait! Don’t go! We’ve almost got this shit solved!

Why, you ask?

Going only by my personal experiences with people like that, many of whom are blood relatives:

Because denying someone else’s hardships and the injustice heaped upon anyone who doesn’t look like you is entirely too easy.

Such denial means that they don’t have to change anything about themselves or the way that they think; it means that they don’t have to care.

Because if it doesn’t affect them directly, then it’s not a real problem, right?

It’s just some overused “card,” a crutch; just an excuse for the poor quality of their lives.

Now to be clear, such weak justifications are NOT the sole jurisdiction of white folks who insist upon denying systemic or behavioral racism; it’s the same for any marginalized group that one can think of.

What you did there, I see it.

As you wish:
