Here’s a mock-up, or perhaps the real thing? (can’t make out the old brown label), in the Natural History Museum Vienna

The label is for the picture to the left, which is an original of his oils paintings, indeed the first one.

I suppose that means the apparatus is definitely a mock-up since it isn’t even being mentioned.
