For some reason, the line from the Pogues song Birmingham Six…

May the whores of the empire lie awake in their beds
And sweat as they count out the sins on their heads

It’d be sweet if the highest court in the land wasn’t devoted to making that land a worse place to be.

This is absolutely the garbage we expected after a stolen Supreme Court nomination and a garbage president. No matter what we manage to reverse and overturn, the Court is how they win the long game.

…which has always been Mitch McConnell’s stated goal.

Not a surprising development, but certainly a sickening one.

Most landlords are bloodsucking parasites on the working classes. Another symptom of a sick, broken country.

The way I read this, Congress decided to dump the hot potato on Biden, and the court said they are not allowed to do that:

End the filibuster, pack the court. It’s what the GOP will do if they find themselves in the same situation.

Roberts, who’s now something of a swing vote, is always going to rule directly or indirectly in the interest of the investor class.

Meanwhile…

Sounds good in theory, but the Quislings won’t allow it to happen.

See above.

Can’t decide if the FDK is Chaotic Evil or Neutral Evil. A bit of both, looks like…

Obviously, not enough Democrats realize they are dealing with people who don’t care about rules, laws, etc, as long as they win.
They also don’t seem to realize that if they don’t throw out the rulebook themselves, they are insuring that the FDK regains power, and their own literal demise will shortly follow.

Numerous Red State legislatures are busy setting up the framework for one party states, and the SCOTUS is fully on board with this.
This should surprise no one, since the SCOTUS had no qualms about installing Bush Jr as POTUS 20+ years ago.

Not much of a ‘swing vote’, then, since the investor class owns the assets & can afford to write their own laws.

Well the good news is - the weather should be getting cooler for the riots soon.

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good?
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could?
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

Their last two rulings against Biden were things they literally ruled FOR Trump on not that long ago.

I can’t quite grasp why that is.

More in terms of economic vs social issues. If a case doesn’t impact business interests, sometimes he’ll side with the liberal Justices. Although more and more in the U.S, ensuring economic conservatism will mean supporting social conservative positions.

“The lifting of the moratorium was demanded by landlords eager to turf out tenants unable to pay their rent.”

Because not a few of them are facing bankruptcy and financial ruin themselves.

Not all landlords are Snidely Whiplash types sitting on giant piles of money but are hard working people who’d like to actually not lose their shorts and maybe their own home (collateral on a mortgage for the apartments sometimes or they even live in one of the apartments

Robbing Peter to let Paul live rent free will only work for a short while.

Duh! The Supreme Court already said it could only be done by Congress, not by any regulatory agency. Is it any wonder that they once again say the same thing?

That being said, this country is in a mess because of this–the regulatory agencies are pretty much gutted.
