Sounds interesting.
Along the “flintlock fantasy” lines, for those interested in finding similar fantasy while waiting for the next Powder Mage book to come out, I’d say Susanna Clarke touches on it in the second half of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. And of course there’s The Guns of Avalon by Roger Zelazny. Neither are so fully focused on those ideas… just touch on them, in the same way that greek fire appears in ASOIAF.
