Table saws are dangerous

I’ve always been amused by the New Yankee Workshop, with the safety lecture before he starts, and half the tools have the safety guards/dust shrouds removed from them. This was done, as other shows pointed out, for television’s sake (gotta show what the tool is doing!).

Personally, when I’m using my table saw? I have the riving knife set, along with the blade guards and anti-kickback pawl, regardless of how fiddly they are to put on. (I take the guards off when I’m putting the saw away normally.)

Also? I have a healthy respect for all power tools.
