A few years ago my spouse and I went to see a live production of 101 Dalmatians. There were a few, very well-trained, dogs who appeared on stage but the majority of the canine roles were played by people in dog costumes and yes it is as awful as it sounds.
The highlight of it was that instead of barking the “dogs” would yell “HEY! HEY!” And now whenever I hear a dog bark that’s all I imagine it’s saying.
