I guess we’ve found an effective termite-proof building material.

The smell of oleic acid in food makes ants believe it’s a corpse. Famously found in trix breakfast cereal. Ants are very different than termites, but could be analogous. Oleic acid would be in McDonald’s and many other fries, depending on the oil used.
