ABC25: Police also tell us that driver was arrested on a warrant out of Oklahoma, and a weapon was found in the car.

Irrelevant. Just more police distraction by trying to link the videographer’s arrest to the “intentions” of the people at the traffic stop.

The cop should go to jail (for decades) for kidnapping and false arrest.

This continues because we do not punish the cops responsible for doing this. We have built a system where cops pretty much don’t have any consequences for their actions, which leads to bad outcomes all over the place.

If the cops don’t know the laws, how can they expect anyone else to know them? The lawbringers must be the first to be bound by the laws themselves.

(Think about it. If a cop knew that they could go to jail for years if they kill someone who wasn’t armed, or arresting someone when no law was broken, do you think they would do either of these things without knowing for sure that they were right?)

As a member of the public, I do not feel safer or more secure with these individual officers on the street.

IIRC, wasn’t there an episode of Adam-12 where Malloy was irritated by one of the rookies bringing along the book of municipal code on a shift?

Arresting lawful camera operators documenting police working in public is terrorism-lite.
