Moto phones for a while were made in Texas.
They may still have plants in Brazil.

Maybe; dunno what port of android the thing is running, probably an older one.
while I don’t use most of the shovelware that apple puts on the iphones for my work phone, it at least stays out of the way of what I use it for- texting, the odd work related picture, MFA apps, and making/taking phone calls, which is a critical requirement for me.
Shhhhhh Don’t say that loud enough the Chinese hear you.
FWIW, I support Taiwan’s independence.
even more, all the “top tier” MAGA faces pushing it are giving “promo codes,” which means they are in on the deal and get a cut for people who sign on and use their codes. it’s stunning how easily they grift from their faithful.
The faithful are authoritarians. They’d feel disappointed if their leaders didn’t steal their money.
Silly Gizmodo. If “privacy and autonomy” is what they wanted, they wouldn’t be Trump-licking GOP voters.
Trump has told them that they have privacy and autonomy. What more would they want?
Why would they trust a bunch of liberals like Gizmodo showing them that they don’t have any of that?
He knows his audience.
I think the Librem 5 USA is probably as close as you can get. You’d have to read through to see if it’s close enough for you.
I do wonder - now that the “Freedom Phone” has been mentioned here, will the StackSocial/StackCommerce algorithm make it pop up in the BoingBoingStore?
I think your definition of irony is incorrect or incomplete.
It fails to encompass “rain on your wedding day.”
That’s almost as ironic as a free ride when you’ve already paid…
A good piece on the Freedumb Phone:
I got to wonder if the FBI is participating in the software development of the “Freedom Phone” and ANOM (rebranded) is one of the included applications.
LOL! Easiest way to get any right winger to buy/support/accept ANYTHING, no matter how stupid, is to insert the word “freedom” in the title.
