The racism aspect was while not surprising was stronger than expected.

I highly recommend an excellent book on this subject. This book is right up there with Skeletons on the Zahara for real life horror stories well told.

I mean… Are we pretending that a huge Hollywood movie called In The Heart of the Sea didn’t come out just a few years ago?

A hollywood film often gets history wrong in favor of a cleaner, more effective narrative.

Caitlin’s version is better. No dreadful unfinished cgi ocean effects.

Also, probably more historically grounded. She’s not a historian, but her videos on historical events tend to be grounded in actual historiography, because she actual puts in the time to do the research before putting these together.
