BUNCH ALIVE EXPEL TOWEL DWELL
Today’s Connections game was too easy. I thought the obvious groupings must be a trick, and that the words would also form into four other coherent groups which would be the true solution. But then I realized that the NYT probably wouldn’t have a game with two different workable solutions on the same day. But that could be cool, if they had a “bonus” that was an alternate answer. But that would be harder to construct.
Each group was a four-word movie title. Once you noticed one, the rest were completely obvious.
Yeah it looked really obvious and I was looking for a trick too. Finished in 10 seconds or thereabouts

I got called out by the Wordle Bot because apparently I had already narrowed it down to only one possibility after the first two guesses. That was pretty surprising, since I only knew two letters, so I didn’t even think to check.
Your 3rd guess is missing one of the letters that you had confirmed to be present with your 2nd guess.
I knew that, I was using it to figure out other letters.
It simply didn’t occur to me that there was only one possible solution left, I felt like there were still quite a lot, so I hadn’t even bothered systematically listing them all. I only knew two letters (not even where they were) and had eliminated only six letters.
It just felt surprising that I had brought it down to a single possibility with those first two words.
