I swear that was a solution a few weeks ago
So far, this is the first and only time that word has been selected as the solution. Maybe you are confused with the fact that fourteen weeks ago, on August 15th, you used that particular word as your second guess.
I had to scroll all the way back up to check. You’re right!

GROWN VIXEN TAKEN ZAZEN QUEEN
I just learned something— I accidentally used ZAZEN after TAKEN, forgetting for the moment that I had already tried an A.
I had mistakenly assumed that in Hard Mode (which is, “Any revealed hints must be used in subsequent guesses”) it would have prevented me from submitting the letter A again. To my mind, a gray square provides a lot of information, but I guess only the yellow and green squares count as “revealed hints”.

(FEAST → TOUGH → THROW)
My thinking: “Let’s see, it was just Thanksgiving in America, so why not try FEAST? Oooh, just one letter and even that wasn’t in the right spot, this is gonna be TOUGH. Oh wait, it’s gonna be THROW isn’t it?”
