@anon3072533 - in Croword, sometimes when I’m thinking of giving up I just “cheat” by making guesses that break the rules but are still allowed. Those guesses show a little flag next to them. I find it’s helping me figure out strategy for those days when I do follow all the rules.

@tcg550 I know, right? I ran through all the vowels in the first two guesses and ended up with only a yellow Y and had to scratch my head for a moment.

I’ll have to try that, thanks. So far I’ve had it on “Strict Mode” (no “cheat”/no flags), which I think was the default and I just left it like that.
As for strategy, what little I’ve developed so far can be summed up as trying to remember to remind myself “Don’t believe everything you think”, lol. But the best strategy is not to do it on too little sleep.
I think I’d be better at Croword if there was a practice mode like with Quordle and Octordle. But then I’d be spending all day on it, I bet, so good thing there’s not. (I haven’t found one, at least.)

Totally! My other main one is to start with words with the fewest different letters in them, so I might get some easy elimination. Things like poppy or daddy.
I like that puzzle a lot, though, frustrating as it can be. I can almost feel my brain learning a new way to think.
