Maybe they mean that since your first guess left 24 possibilities, for your second guess it was more luck than skill to choose the one that you did?

Redemption! The Wordlebot is interesting on this one - my second guess cut down the options to 1 and was the same word that the bot would have chosen, so it gave me 99 in skill but only 37 in luck.

I actually think that non hard mode Wordle is much more a game of skill than hard mode Wordle. I guess hard mode makes it easier to blame bad letter combinations than “easy mode”.
