For quordle, do you have a regular “opening” word(s) or do you play-as-you-go?
I’ve been opening with three words, MUTED, PAILS, CORNY which use up the fifteen most frequent letters* and more often than not I can finish 4/5/6/7.
Moreover, letters M, P, C are at the beginning more often than elsewhere, letters D, S, Y at the end most often, and I did my best arranging the middle letters to reflect their most common positions.
*I used the five-letter words from the Scrabble dictionary for my analysis, since it was handy. But I noticed quordle avoids plurals or past tenses (not to mention the utter bullshit words allowed in scrabble), so I could probably improve my three starter words. Does anyone know if there is a quordle word list?

For Quordle and Octordle, I use sometimes use two starter words. Lately, it’s been “learn” and if I have an empty section, I also use “pious”.
I got the rare 3-4-5-6 today

As you can see, I had to use the second starter word in the LR quadrant, which helped with that section as well as the UR quadrant.

I also pick 3 words with the 15 most common letters, but my strategy is to put the letters in LESS likely positions. I should try your way for a bit and see if I like it better.
Current 3 (the second one is constant, but I break up 1 and 3 into other words sometimes with slightly different arrangements to include slightly different consonants):
