Be warned: The ratings are funny. I know a gifted author who got (still in the top 5%) “congrats! You have the vocabulary of a successful 30 year old businessperson.” Which can come across as kind of insulting
Interesting. Towards the end I wasn’t guessing but I was eliminating the words I knew the meaning of. If I had to come up with synonyms or antonyms on my own I would have failed miserably at the end. I wish they let me see the answers. And is like really a synonym of love? Or do I not understand synonym?
Fun. Though it seemed a bit…stretchy. I would never have used most of those if I was asked to give synonyms or antonyms
It would have been harder/slower if the answer choices were all the same part of speech as the given words. I mean, a synonym or antonym of a verb or noun, say, is not going to be an adjective, right?
Well, the first word that jumped out at me in today’s NYT Spelling Bee was abattoir, but it wasn’t allowed. Not sure if that means it’ll be a good day or a bad day.
Interesting that they allowed abort, considering that they recently removed fetus from Wordle.
