You are mistakenly assuming that my perspective is from the point of “fandom.” But I don’t read the comics, I just watch the movies. So seeing characters with the same weapon/outfits feels like copy/paste because - in the movies - it isn’t explained. You might have background knowledge based on your long experience with the source material, but I don’t. So it feels off.

I guess that’s where our mileage varies then. When I see something like that my curiosity is piqued and I want to know more/why. Assuming it’s just a cheap reuse with no rationale never crosses my mind.

And I say that as a fan of comic cinema but have no encyclopedic knowledge of the Marvel Universe.

I actually watch more films on the seat-back TV during long haul flights than I do in the cinema.

News spins on movie debuts are illogical. A movie has a slow start: “movie bombs”. Two popular movies come out at the same time, and movie A draws slightly more audience than B on the first weekend: “movie B is a loser”. As though people only see one movie. If they chose A first, then they can’t see B?

I read good things about “The Marvel” and I look forward to seeing it.

It’s also a sign “a movie is a bomb” if the weather is too nice. People like to see movies if it’s rainy out.

Ditto! I found it to be the best Marvel movie in a long while. It was really fun. And ITA Iman Vellani definitely stole every single scene she was in. I’m really hoping they make Young Avengers, and get some Squirrel Girl in there too. :slight_smile:

I really don’t care for Squirrel Girl, but you know what I won’t do if they put her in Young Avengers? I won’t spend 6+ months of my life trying to destroy a movie that I might not like. Instead, I’ll just shut the hell up and let people enjoy what they life to watch… :slight_smile:
