Yes, but the execution of a subpoena can be put on hold while the court considers the merits of an objection. It can drag on for ages.

She’s lying about the government cheese. She’s too young to have ever tasted it since the food reserve programs were ended right around when she was born. I was 14 when we got our last block.
The government cheese you got in Wisconsin is the best “American” cheese I’ve ever had. My aunt subsisted through university while on welfare and food stamps, and she shared blocks with us because my mom was too embarrassed at her failure to adult to sign up for programs we qualified for.

My aunt was in River Falls at the time, 18 miles from Hudson on the border along I-94. Mom and I were in the Twin Cities. Wonder if it came from the same dairy?

Worth a trip to see how much more elevated the small dairies are now. Bonus: damned near every town has at least one brewery again. Fresh beer to go with your fresh cheese! Sausages, too, if you’re into that sort of thing.
