Except that tons of people didn’t go there before the pictures went viral.

What do you mean? It’s (was) right in the middle of Huskvarna, a town of more than 20,000 people. A vandal sawed one limb. The local authorities hired a company (did they use Husqvarna chainsaws?) to cut it the rest of the way down. There were tons of people there.

I see what you did there. I do have photos of some of my trips at:

It’s why I always think that if we ever create AI before we go extinct that if there’s one thing I’d want AI to learn is to cherish the natural world above all else. It would be funny that a tin man as it were would be the thing to guard and cherish the natural world.

Damn. THOSE kick ass. No, I will not go broadcasting them further. (To remain 100% on-topic.) 20 years ago, I visited the Bristlecone Pines above Bishop. They were awesome. And cute. I wanted to cut one down and take it home as a pet. (Kidding about that. It was a terrible joke.)

Reminds me of this: https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/exqnxk/why-do-i-want-to-crush-cute-animals

Nobody taught them otherwise, so they shit in their own cave.

Hey! Most other animals, and especially those monsters, are very nice, even by human terms!
Humans are deeply human. That does not mean that they are humane, or considerate towards others, first of all not towards non-humans. But some are, and this is already quite remarkable.

I understand and share your anger and frustration, but I urge myself to not loose my shit over the shit shitheads do and say, but to make it better.

I keep telling this to myself, because otherwise I would just like to watch the world burn. And this is no option, since it contains 4.5 billion years of evolutionary marvel, and every Archaebacteria are already deserve wonder, protection, and even (coughIwillberidoculedforthiscough) love.

ETA: here, have some Blue Swedes for calm. Ok, it’s Finnished. But it’s warmer than a polar bear’s coat. I’ve got the urge to sing along… )

Kun tuo taivas on niin tumma
Ja metsässä huokaa tuuli
Maantien mutkassa pieni on tölli
Ja siellä on kirsikkapuuni…

Cherry tree indeed…
